Inspection and maintenance of rolling bearings

The bearing itself is an important part of the mechanical equipment. Once there is a slight problem with the bearing, it will have a certain impact on the reliability, precision, performance and life of the mechanical equipment. Therefore, doing a good job of daily maintenance of the bearings can prolong the running time of the bearings, thereby improving the service life of the equipment.

When the bearing is overhauled, first record the appearance and confirm the remaining amount of lubricant. After the lubricant is sampled and inspected, the bearing should be cleaned carefully. The cleaning of bearings generally uses diesel oil or kerosene, which is divided into rough cleaning and fine cleaning. In the rough cleaning oil, use a brush to remove grease and stickies. After it is roughly clean, turn to fine cleaning, and clean the bearing while rotating it in the cleaning oil. Cleaning oil should be kept clean.

To judge whether the bearing can be used again, it must be determined after the cleaned bearing is checked. The inspection content: the state of the raceway surface, rolling surface, and mating surface, the wear condition of the cage, and the inspection of the non-separable ball bearing. Circle support level, rotate the outer circle to confirm whether it is smooth. For separable bearings such as tapered roller bearings, the rolling elements and outer ring raceway surfaces can be inspected separately. The judgment of whether it can be reused is determined by considering the degree of bearing damage, mechanical properties, importance, operating conditions and the period from the next maintenance. However, bearings must be replaced if:

1) There are cracks or gaps on the inner ring, outer ring, rolling elements and cage;

2) There are obvious jams on the raceway surface, ribs and rolling elements;

3) The cage is severely worn, or the rivets are significantly loose;

4) There are serious indentations and marks on the raceway surface and rolling elements;

5) Obvious surface discoloration caused by overheating;

6) There is obvious creep on the inner diameter surface of the inner ring or the outer diameter surface of the outer ring.
