To determine whether a tapered roller bearing should be used again, it is necessary to consider the degree of damage to the tapered roller bearing, machine performance, importance, operating conditions, inspection cycle, etc. before making a decision. If damage or abnormality is found in the tapered roller bearing after inspection, the cause needs to be identified and countermeasures formulated. If the following conditions occur, the tapered roller bearing can no longer be used and needs to be replaced with a new tapered roller bearing.
1. There is a break in any of the ferrules and rolling elements.
2. There are obvious jams on the rolling surface, ribs and rolling elements.
3. The cage is significantly worn or the rivets are significantly loose.
4. There is rust or damage on the raceway surface and rolling elements.
5. There are serious indentations and scratches on the raceway surface and rolling elements.
6. There is obvious creep on the inner diameter surface of the inner ring or the outer diameter surface of the outer ring.
7. Discoloration caused by heat is obvious.
8. The sealing ring or dust cover of the tapered roller bearing sealed with grease is obviously damaged.
