Whether the bearing is installed well or not will affect the accuracy, life and performance of the bearing. Therefore, the installation of the bearing is extremely important.
1. Bearing preparation
Since the bearings are rustproofed and packaged, do not open the package until immediately before installation. In addition, the anti-rust oil coated on the bearing has good lubricating performance, and it can be used directly without cleaning for general-purpose bearings or bearings filled with grease. However, for instrument bearings or bearings used for high-speed rotation, clean cleaning oil should be used to wash off the anti-rust oil. At this time, the bearings are prone to rust and cannot be placed for a long time.
2. Inspection of shaft and housing
Clean the bearing and housing, and confirm that there are no scars or burrs left by machining. There must be absolutely no abrasives, chips, etc. in the housing. Secondly, check whether the size, shape and processing quality of the shaft and the shell are consistent with the drawings. Before installing the bearing, apply mechanical oil to the mating surfaces of the shaft and the housing that have passed the inspection.
3. Bearing installation method
Bearing installation methods vary depending on the bearing type and fit conditions.
Since the shaft generally rotates, the inner ring and the outer ring can adopt interference fit and clearance fit respectively, and when the outer ring rotates, the outer ring should adopt interference fit.
The bearing installation methods when using interference fit can be mainly divided into the following categories:
①, Press-in installation
Press-in installation generally uses a press, and bolts and nuts can also be used. If necessary, a hand hammer can be used to install.
② Shrink-fitting installation The heat-fitting method of heating the bearing to expand it and then installing it on the shaft can prevent the bearing from being subjected to unnecessary external force and complete the installation in a short time.
4. Bearing removal
Bearings need to be disassembled for periodic inspection or parts replacement. Usually the shaft and bearing housing are almost always used, and the bearings are often also used. Therefore, the structural design should take into account that when disassembling the bearing, the bearing, shaft, bearing box and other parts will not be damaged, and appropriate disassembly tools should be prepared at the same time. When disassembling a statically fitted ferrule, only the pulling force can be applied to the ferrule, and the ferrule cannot be pulled through the rolling elements.
