Causes of abnormal noise in crossed roller bearings

1. Bearing wear

 Challenges, dents or serious faults in the inner and outer raceways of the bearing will cause abnormal noise in the crossed roller bearings. Surface impacts, scratches and other defects on the rolling elements will also cause smooth and crisp noises in the cross roller bearings. After long-term use, bearings are prone to wear, causing damage to the meshing relationship between the bearings and the shaft, causing the shaft to deviate and causing periodic vibration pulses.

  2. Shaft clearance is too small

The axial clearance of crossed roller bearings generally requires that the rotational clearance be as small as possible. However, if the rollers in the raceway are squeezed too tightly, the axial clearance is too small, resulting in increased frictional resistance and pockets in the rolling elements and cages. There is a violent collision between them, resulting in abnormal noise.

 3. Entering foreign objects and debris

Foreign matter such as impurities and iron filings entering the raceway operating area of the bearing will cause severe friction with the rollers in the raceway. At this time, even small amounts of dust will cause periodic or non-periodic vibration of the bearing. Pulse, causing the bearing to make abnormal noise during operation.

 4. Insufficient lubricating oil performance

 The lubricating oil used in crossed roller bearings has poor performance or the quality of the lubricating oil is poor, which may cause abnormal noise during use of the bearing. Improper bearing sealing causes oil or grease leakage, friction occurs between the grooves of the rolling elements and the cage, and vibration pulses occur due to grinding lubricants on the rolling elements during operation, causing abnormal noise in the bearing.
